The Ausangate is the most representative mountain of the
Cuscos Andes; it is situated in the mountain range of
Vilcanota in one of the most inhospitable and extraordinary
of the highest Andean zones in Peru. Their average climbis 6,372 m. The numerous turquoise lagoons, high
plains and the stone landscape change this into a lunar
paradise, a complete refuge from modernity. Walking within
the Ausangate is an indescribable adventure, it is
impossible not to marvel at the beauty of the sunsets and
the eternal snows. Often one finds rocks that climb to a
point of more than five thousand meters of height and
tongues of ice that fall in a giddy way, forming glacial
lagoons. The Ausangate tour is one of the great attractions
of Cusco.
