The voluntary work is an activity
intended to improve the standard of living of the Andean
towns (Cusco). During the length of his/her stay the
volunteer connects with a different culture and reality
while at the same time becoming a direct part of the
development of the rural Andean community’s experience
and knowledge.
During the time that the volunteer
remains in Cusco he/she fulfils different activities,
some of them may be greatly related to the profession or
field of study that he/she carries out in his/her
country of origin, these activities are:
• Forestation and reforestation of native
trees (Queuña and Chachacomo) in the
Andes.
• Medical assistance in hospitals and
medical posts high in the populated Andean mountains.
•
Teaching Spanish and English in communal
centres and Andean educational centres high in the
Andes.
• Maintenance and cleaning of Incan
archaeological remains.
• Aid in mental health centres in the
city of the Cusco.

• Cultivate and harvest agricultural
products high in the Andes (potato, goose, lizas

benefits of the plants of our Andes and the Peruvian
Amazon.
Important:
After the volunteer’s stay the Association Aspadena
(Association for National Development) offers a
certificate which recognizes the work done in Cusco.
This certificate details the activity undertaken and
clearly states the experience and work of the volunteer
therefore expanding his/her curriculum.
